I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday. I wanted to talk about a few books I've been reading lately because I've had a few people ask me on Instagram. You would think that with the focus of my account being on self-care and mental health that I would be super into self-help books...except I'm not! I've boughten numerous self-help type books that have been sitting in my nightstand for years. I've been reading since I was a kid and always read to escape my problems.. a form of self-care. As an adult, I have less and less free time so if I have time to read, I'd rather read for pleasure and not self-help books.
So what do I like to read? Well, I've always been into history books. I just finished The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris and I very much liked the book, although I didn't fancy the ending. It was an easy read which I didn't think it would be, considering the setting/topic. One of my favourite books, still to this day, is Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay.
I've also boughten Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur and have yet to read it. That will be next on my to-read list! Although.. I've heard that it's easier to read a few poems a day or even just one poem a day rather than reading the entire book at once.
